I would like to take this time to jot down how my classes are going. I've been to a week of classes and find some things very interesting:
Calc 3
Fun stuff. Notes. Lots of notes. I love math notes. One problem though is the school book store hasn't gotten the book for this class even a week after it was supposed to come in. They keep saying, "Come back such and such day," and I do and it's still not there and the line to the counter is wrapped around the entire store and half the class already has the book from Calc 2 but I didn't take Calc 2 so I don't! But I can do on just notes for now. All that will happen is later on I will have to spend a weekend doing practice problems to solidify what I've learned in class for the last two weeks.
Comp Sci
Blech. Too easy. I hate it. Her lectures are like, "What does a mouse do? Here is a list of different types of computer storage devices," and I'm like, "I know what a flash drive is. We don't need to spend 10 minutes on this." Did I mention that I received a CD of all the programs we need for home only to realize it's all Windows and I don't have Windows? Or that our labs are centered around the book "An Introduction to Programming Using Alice 2.2" Alice?! Of all things Alice?! I have to say it is an easy A and I got through a quarter of the book while other students were still doing the Alice tutorials so I can get my nice 4 credits with no problem and start out with a high GPA. And, other than the teacher, I'm the only girl in the class.
Physics
Started out pretty well. The lecture was basically what we learned in Calc 3 the day before (vectors) so I have a feeling they won't collide and confuse by having different terms for the same things. I've always been good at math, but mostly, my mother took physics and said it was one of the best classes she ever took, and I have a similar mind as hers, so I'm kind of excited to see what we can do. I've always had an interest in physics but never took a class so I only know the basics from what I've learned in other science classes. The lab is tomorrow so I will update about how that goes.
Also, I've been hanging out with people more. I have a large break between classes on Mondays and Wednesdays and sit outside with friends I've had for a while but haven't been able to hang out with really. Also meeting some new people, a lot of the socially awkward kind, but I still enjoy them. I will start spending even more time at the college after getting into some extra-curriculars and such.
